Do you treat patients with dental anxiety, and what sedation options are there?

Yes, Wesmark Family Dentistry (Sumter) understands that dental anxiety is common and offers nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") and oral sedation to help patients feel comfortable and relaxed during their visits.

What should I expect at my first visit?

During your first dental appointment at Wesmark Family Dentistry (Sumter), we recommend that your patient documents are completed prior to your appointment.

What safety and sterilisation protocols do you follow?

We allow time to disinfect all treatment areas between patient appointments, screen our team members daily for COVID-19 risk factors, and our staff wear protective equipment including face shields, caps, shoe covers, gowns, gloves, and masks.

What dental services do you offer?

We offer dental exams and X-rays, teeth cleaning, dental sealants, oral cancer screenings with VELscope, sedation dentistry, emergency services, TMJ & TMD care, sleep apnea therapy, cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers, smile makeovers, teeth whitening, bridges, crowns, fillings, dental implants, dentures, gum recontouring, root canals, periodontics, orthodontics, and tooth and wisdom tooth extractions.

Are your dentists specialists, and in what?

Our dentists — Dr. Jessica Starnes, Dr. Kevin Will, and Dr. Robert Guerriero — are general dentists; Dr. Guerriero is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists with advanced training in surgical implant placement, oral surgery, crown and bridge, and root canals.
